I am grateful for the intensity

At 51, I am grateful for the intensity and, especially, the efficacy of this workout. The members cheer each other on and take real pleasure in other’s accomplishments, at whatever level they are.  For me, the gym has been an oasis of wellness amidst the impact of these economic times. With my busy work/family schedule, now I can be a weekend warrior with my favorite activities without getting injured and sore. Really, I can’t say enough about it.

I couldn’t be happier with the experience

I am a professional Figure Skater who has performed and competed for over three decades. My career has been highlighted by skating in the internationally acclaimed Snoopy on Ice shows. I have earned hundreds of medals but the most thrilling was my three gold medals and bronze won at Adult National Figure Skating Championships.

I accomplished all of the goals

Shortly after joining CFSR I was granted the opportunity of trying out for the Santa Rosa Police Dept. SWAT Team. This had been a goal of mine since the first day I put on a Santa Rosa uniform and began working as a police officer.

I feel strong, fit and flexible

Starting in childhood, I have eaten healthy foods and exercised several times a week. Throughout my twenties and early thirties I kept fit and looked healthy. The moment I turned 40, my body changed (rebelled) I noticed “love handles” and gaining a “muffin top.”

Crossfit was excellent conditioning

I came to CrossFit Santa Rosa in the fall of 2010 as a veteran marathon runner in full race condition. I thought I was a good athlete already, so Crossfit might help me a little around the edges but I was doing well on my own. My On-ramp was an exercise in humility.

I’ve dropped 30 pounds!

At the urging of my wife (who had been a member several months prior to me signing up), I decided to enroll at CrossFit Santa Rosa. I was a bit reluctant as I had always-preferred going to the gym, putting in my headphones and doing the workout on my own. Even during my football playing days, I favored individual workouts.

It’s pure community

Santa Rosa Strength and Conditioning is more than just a program to me, although it offers the best out there. It’s pure community. For me that has been the fuel behind my change.
