July Member of the Month – Anthony Brown

I was looking for a way to exercise that would compliment the rock climbing I was doing at the time I started. After being encouraged by Brianna to check out SRSC, I tried it out and it seemed like a great fit. It’s now turned into one of the most consistent types of exercise I’ve stuck with and has helped me with one of the things I’ve always struggled with: putting on weight!

June Member of the Month – Joyce Orecchia

I was drawn in by the 6 week Spring Transformation Challenge, it was the perfect challenge to motivate me to give Paleo and CrossFit a chance, but what kept me was the way I was coached from where I was, and never felt I was pushed beyond my abilities, my safety was always #1. The coaches (Joanna, Erik, and Kiki) ROCK and really are committed to your personal progress and helping you to get to where you want to be.

She’s smaller but stronger!

Joyce joined SRSC through the Spring Health Transformation Challenge, and stayed on as a regular group training member. Her transformation in the last 6 months is phenomenal.

She couldn’t do an air squat for the first two months. Look at her now! Incredible.

Strong Finisher

Kanani takes the Kalalau Valley

One of my goals for joining Santa Rosa Strength and Conditioning was to be able to enjoy life to its fullest. If someone were to ask me to name my passion in life, I would probably tell them it was hiking. I have hiked all over Sonoma County and decided to set my sights on…

Faster, Stronger, Happier

For the past 7 years I have had a love affair with all things health and fitness.  Between 2008 and 2010, I was able to lose 100 pounds through eating locally-sourced organic foods, bike commuting and exercising 5 days a week.  I continued my fitness regimen throughout my second pregnancy (in 2011) including running a…

No longer have sleep apnea.

After being diagnosed with sleep apnea due to having too much fat on my neck, I came to the realization that I needed a serious change in my training regimen. Always being a semi-power lifter with a hint of bodybuilding minus the cardio and never having any kind of diet had caught up to me.

The difference was astounding!

I trained on my own for a year before going to the fire academy.  I ran, lifted weights, stretched and threw a 24-foot ladder around.  I trained but, lacking expertise, I didn’t train the right way and I wasn’t strong enough to beat the drill time limits at academy. ‘You have heart and know the drills, but you need to take a year off and gain 20 pounds of muscle then try again.’
